About Us

Bristol United Football Club was formed in 2022 with a clear mission: to build the best amateur football club in South Bristol — one that brings together people of all backgrounds and abilities through a shared passion for the game.

From our early days, we’ve focused on developing competitive teams while fostering a close-knit, hardworking football community. Our values are simple but strong: teamwork, work ethic, and inclusivity. We're proud to be a club where everyone pulls together on and off the pitch.

Our Story

Bristol United was founded after the folding of a local club left players and coaches without a home. Determined to do things better, John and his team stepped up to create something new — and better. Today, the club is run by John, Sam, and Dan, whose leadership has guided the club’s continued success and steady growth.

In just a few short seasons, we've celebrated back-to-back promotions, most recently earning a place in Division 2 of the Bristol & District League in 2025.

Teams

We currently operate two competitive men’s senior teams:

  • First Team – Bristol & District League, Division 2

  • Reserve Team – Bristol & District League, Division 4

We’re actively planning to expand with more squads in the near future, as we continue to grow and welcome new talent.

Training & Trials

We train twice a week during pre-season (Tuesday and Thursday evenings), and once a week in-season (Wednesday evenings).
We're always open to new players — if you're interested in joining, get in touch for a trial session. We’ll make sure it’s the right fit for both you and the club.

Club Culture

At Bristol United, football is only part of the picture. We work hard to create a club that feels like a family, with regular social events, team bonding activities, and club nights that bring players and supporters together.
Our fans and volunteers are at the heart of what we do — supporting on matchdays, getting involved in our fundraising efforts, or simply cheering us on through our channels.

Community & Ambition

We’re proud to support local causes through charity events, and we’re constantly looking for ways to give back to the community that supports us.

In the next couple of seasons, our goals are clear: strengthen our squads, remain competitive, and continue climbing the leagues. Longer term, we aim to secure our own ground and establish Bristol United as a respected and stable presence in higher-level amateur football.

Matchday

We play our home fixtures at the Imperial Sports Ground, West Town Lane, Brislington, BS14 9EA — a top-class facility that we’re proud to call home. Matchdays draw a solid and growing crowd, with a great atmosphere and passionate support from the sidelines.

Get Involved

We're currently looking for sponsors, partners, and dedicated individuals who want to be part of our journey.
Whether you're a player, volunteer, supporter, or local business, there’s a place for you at Bristol United.
